Why have bridal showers?

A bridal shower is a fun filled way for the bride and her friends to celebrate the wedding, bridal showers were traditionally given to women whose families refused to co-operate in any part of the wedding due to the groom being unsuitable. Friends chipped in to help the bride and shower her with gifts to make up for the families lack of help, these days the shower is thrown by the bride to be`s maid of honour or chief bridesmaid. The bridal shower can be held anywhere from the home to a spa, restaurant, favourite park or the local pub.
