Wedding planning tips

With all the hustle and bustle of the preparations for the wedding day very often the honeymoon takes a back seat, but when you stop and think about it the honeymoon is just as much part of the wedding, after all this is the time when man and wife begin their new life together and as such should be something to remember.

It is also a time for them to just lay back and relax and ease away the stress and strain that the wedding will no doubt have had on them. For a successful and care free honeymoon just follow these few simple tips:

Work out the budget for the honeymoon

If you haven't already decided on the budget for the honeymoon when you started planning your wedding then now is the time to do so, decide what you can comfortably afford and if you would like to go with a traditional honeymoon on a sun kissed beach on a tropical island or if you would prefer somewhere more secluded such as a log cabin complete with open fire which can be a romantic change from tradition. Whichever option you choose make sure that you can afford it, you don't want to be starting off married life with a huge debt.

Decide how long and when to go

While in the olden days honeymoons were traditionally taken as soon as the wedding was over and sometimes the bride and groom left right after the wedding without even attending the reception. Honeymoons can be taken whenever the bride and groom choose to, maybe you would rather leave the day after the wedding or even a week or two later giving you time to settle down to married life and relax a little together first. Another popular option is for the married couple to take a short honeymoon for just a couple of days straight after the wedding then take a proper honeymoon on their first anniversary.

Visit a travel agent and shop around

While a lot of people these days prefer to book online for holidays it is worthwhile taking a trip to see your local travel agency, many agencies will have special package holidays that are specifically designed for newlyweds and honeymooners. Not only will they have ideas that you might not have thought of but they will also be able to give advice on any inoculations you will need, when rainy seasons are and any documents such as visa are needed.

Make arraignments for documents, passports, visas and vaccinations

It is surprising how long the little details can take when planning a honeymoon, always make sure your passports are up to date and that you have the relevant documents handy such as your driving license and make sure that is hasn't expired. Also make sure that you have visited your Doctor and are up to date with any vaccinations that you should have had in plenty of time.
