Outfitting the bridal party tipsWedding planningTo make sure your wedding shines and stands out from the rest then you will want to make sure that the wedding party compliments the bride's dress with their choice of outfits. The groom's outfit If you and your bride have chosen a traditional wedding then you could go with a morning suit or frockcoat, you could even go the whole nine yards and include a top hat, cane and gloves. On the other hand if you don't want to go that far then consider a three quarter length jacket which gives a formal look with a modern twist to it. However outfits can be very expensive to purchase but there are hire firms which will greatly reduce the cost especially since many will never find the occasion to wear it again after the wedding. If you want something a little less formal then consider a designer suit, pin stripes are becoming a popular choice and when combined with a striped shirt and matching tie they give maximum effect. The first step to take when choosing your outfit is to visit several men's wear specialist shops with your future bride and try on different styles and see which you feel more comfortable in and which suits you. Remember to take with you samples of the bridesmaid dresses and colours to match the right combination for maximum effect on the big day. Where possible you will want all the men in the immediate wedding party which is usually the groom, best man, bride's father, father of the groom and the ushers to have the same style. The pageboys outfit If possible dress the pageboy in the same style as the other male members of the wedding party, however if the pageboy is very young then you might consider dressing him in a sailors outfit to offset and consider adding colours of his outfit into the bridesmaids flower bouquets for co-ordination. The bridesmaid's dresses The bridesmaid's dresses should compliment the style and colour of the brides dress in order to show it off to its full potential. If you have chosen bridesmaids of roughly the same age and build then this makes your job easier but usually they will vary greatly in age. It is important that while they should look wonderful and compliment the bride they must also feel comfortable too, so courtesy prevails that you take their consideration into account when choosing the style. The bride and groom's mothers The mothers of the bride and groom will want to stand out and make an impression on their sons and daughters big day but while doing so they have to make the decision of if they will buy something that they can wear again or if their choice will be just for the wedding day. If the outfit will be just for the day then there are several specialist shops that cater for weddings where they will be given undivided attention. Shops such as these will not only be able to provide the outfit but also all accessories that will match the outfit, complete with the hat and shoes . Filed under: Wedding planning |
