Wedding planning

There are ways to have a perfect wedding without breaking the bank, so if you dream of a perfect wedding then follow these tips and you can have it.

Economise on the wedding invitations

Don't go for expensive engraving on your wedding invitations, there are some lovely invitations available in stationery stores or on the internet. If your wedding is more of a casual affair then consider printing them your self from home. For that added special touch learn how to do calligraphy and write on them in blue and black inks.

Check out wedding dress sales

Many wedding specialist shops have sales you should check them out especially if you are a smaller size, often stores will have bargain designer dresses for less than half price. One thing to bear in mind is that cleaning a wedding dress can be very expensive so avoid bargain dresses which clearly need too much cleaning or that have rips or tears in them.

Avoid weekends and the summer months

The summer months and weekends are the most popular time for a wedding if you have no special reason to then avoid them and get married during the week, this can save money on vendors such as cars, photographers and the reception venue.

Save money on catering

Be honest with the caterer you choose and tell them your budget, a good caterer will be able to provide something to match all budgets, ask for the least expensive entrees and consider if a buffet would work out cheaper than a sit down meal. Many times you can order one buffet meal for every two people and you could even consider supplying your own buffet with the help of friends or family.

Trim your wedding invitation list

Instead of inviting everybody you can think of or people that you haven't seen for years then just invite your closest friends and family members. Don't feel that you are obliged to invite every boyfriend and girlfriend of your relatives and ask those other than the immediate family members not to bring their children. Don't forget that for everyone you put down on your list then you not only have to pay for food but also the cost of centre pieces, gifts, linen etc.

Save money on flowers and decorations

Ask the florist about flowers that are in season, some flowers which are not in season can be very expensive when including them in bouquets; also ask whether silk flowers will work out cheaper than fresh flowers. Cut down on the flower arraignments for church and for the reception venue, perhaps just having a posy on every other table rather than on them all.
