Wedding entertainment tipsWedding planningChoosing the right entertainment for your wedding can make the difference to your wedding being highly successful and memorable to nothing more than just another family get together. The first thing you should do when booking your reception is to find out if you have to have entertainment provided by the venue you have booked, some venues will insist you use their resident DJ. The early wedding If your wedding is taking place early in the day then background music should be provided for atmosphere while guests talk among themselves. This can either be provided in the form of a CD or by live musicians playing tasteful ambient music, popular forms could be jazz or classical. Night time music A good DJ is essential and they should be able to provide something for everyone's tastes, another point to consider is your theme for example do you wish to have mostly music from a certain era, say the 60`s, 70`s or 80`s. Also if you wish to have a certain song dedicated to your new husband or wife then make sure you ask about this well in advance or take a copy of your own on CD. It is worthwhile looking around before committing to one and if possible try to see them performing live before booking them. Always ask them about their dress code to make sure that they will fit in with your type of wedding and make sure that they know the time and date of the wedding and double check bookings a couple of weeks before your wedding. Fun and games It is becoming more and more popular at weddings to provide fun and games for your guests, these include mini casinos where your guest can play at blackjack, roulette and such and are ideal for those who don't like dancing. Another popular form of entertainment is hiring a comedian or magician especially if there is going to be lots of children at the wedding. Other popular forms of entertainment are line dancing and barn dancing along with comedians. Tips for entertainment * Ask the venue you book if there are any restrictions to the type of entertainment you can hire. * Make sure there is ambient music throughout the day. * Confirm all bookings you make in writing and get receipts. * Always check any bookings you have made two weeks prior to the wedding day. * Consider hiring a special children's entertainer such as a clown if there are going to be a lot of children attending the wedding, it will keep the children happy and allow the parents some free time.
